Secondary Inter-House Athletics Carnival
CHAC’s annual Secondary Inter-House Athletics Carnival will be held on Wednesday 16 June at the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre, Nathan.
It is a normal school day and students are expected to attend. Students (not competing in the 800m event) are to report to Homeroom as per usual for Rollcall, and students will be bussed out to QSAC Stadium for the day. Those students who have signed up to participate in the 800m event are to meet in the Tuggerah at 7.15am to catch the early buses out to the venue. (The 800m races are held before the rest of the school arrives at the venue, so if you are not on the bus you will not be able to compete in the race.)
Students have nominated for the events they wish to enter and have been given all details regarding the day.
Normal phone-in procedures must be followed to inform the school of any absences if students are ill on the day. If students cannot compete due to illness or injury (but are able to attend school), they may be allocated jobs to assist or support their House in the stands.
Students must wear full school sports uniform to and from school. This includes:
- CHAC sports shorts, CHAC PE Shirt or House shirt, white socks, CHAC cap or formal hat (if they do not own a CHAC cap and running shoes
- School jumpers, blazers and tracksuits only are permitted to be worn
- No jewelry is permitted, and hair must be neatly tied back.
Students are encouraged to bring sunscreen, their own water bottle and enough food to last the day. A canteen will operate on the day at the venue.
Parents and families are welcome to attend as spectators. Competition will start from 9:30am. Please note that car parking is limited on site.
Further information for participants and spectators, including uniform requirements and a program for the day, can be found on our website.
We value the safety of our students, staff and community.
Please do not attend if:
- you are unwell
- you are being tested for COVID-19
- you are required to self-isolate in accordance with Government Directives.
Students and spectators are asked to sanitize hands regularly at the event. Students and staff only will be permitted in the grandstand. Spectators should sign in using the QR codes located at the venue and are able to watch from outside the fenced area (limited seating available – bring a picnic blanket).
