Active School Travel - Park and Stride
The Park and Stride initiative is part of the Active School Travel Program, and is organised by the CHAC Primary P&F. It involves driving the car part of the way to school and walking the rest of the way. On Park and Stride day, participating CHAC Primary students will leave from two Park and Stride locations and walk to school as a group. Children who participate will have fun either walking down Bent Street or crossing the oval with their fellow students and friends! Parent volunteers will be present to meet everyone at the start locations and walk along with the group.
Please note, ultimate responsibility for you and your child's safety along the walk to school route rests with you. If you feel your child needs special attention or cannot self-manage the walk you will need to walk along with them.
On Friday 30 July, there will be two meeting locations: One group will meet near Cannon Hill train station at the corner of Whitworth Street and Armstrong Road, the second group will meet at Portwine Street Park in Murarrie at the corner of Moonie Avenue and Portwine Street. Please see the CHAC's Active School Travel map for suggested routes to walk to school and the location of the Park and Stride meeting points.
This event is open to all CHAC Primary students and their families. No registration is required, just turn up!
