Time is very precious and the College is incredibly grateful for all the hours our volunteers tirelessly give to support the College. There are many opportunities to help including assisting with General Primary Classroom Assistance and Reading Groups in Primary, Primary Excursions, Sports Coaches, P&F, Home Baking for events at the College and helping in the Canteen to name a few.
All Volunteers are required to read our policy and register using this form. Thank you for your assistance.
There are many opportunities to get involved, to make new and potentially life-long friends, to help grow the facilities for students, to enjoy student presentations or parent-only events, and to make the most of your time as part of the CHAC family.
Parents and Friends Association (P&F)
The Cannon Hill Anglican College Parents and Friends’ Association (P&F) is a representative body of parents and friends of the College who are committed to advancing the College and the
quality of education available to its students, through mutual support and fundraising.
The major focus of the P&F is to collaborate with parents and friends in providing support, either by way of voluntary support of P&F activities, or by raising funds to donate to the College to support identified areas of need in the College.
Parents are encouraged to volunteer in the many P&F activities, including:
- The College Canteen - a team of paid and volunteer staff operate this P&F business, and parents can nominate to assist regularly, or even just as a casual back up on certain available days.
- Fundraising Activities - Mothers' and Fathers' Day stalls, dances and other fundraising initiatives happen each year, and we rely on volunteers to ensure their success.
- Events - such as the Wetlands Festival, held every two years. This is a major fundraising event which takes a great deal of organisation and effort. Our annual Trivia night, discos and other events also require organisational, set-up and pack-down support from an army of parent volunteers.
As a Prep to Year 12 College with over 1100 students, a large number of official College events take place every year. Parent assistance is encouraged in many areas, including home baking, setup and pack down assistance, greeting and serving guests at events, and fundraising.
Volunteers are welcome to assist in classrooms under the direct supervision of the teacher. Areas of use may include literacy circles, general class group work, helping with art, sport and other activities as required.
Clean up and replanting days in our wonderful Wetlands helps maintain and improve the beautiful environs we are privileged to share. A green thumb is not a prerequisite - any colour will do!
The College seeks businesses in a variety of industries, which would welcome students for two to three days during school holidays, to allow them to experience daily life in their preferred career field.
Grow awareness of your business through sponsorship and other support opportunities, and by attending events such as the highly-successful corporate golf day and other special networking events.
