This term, CHAC’s first-ever cohort of Year 10 Ancient History students were privileged to visit the RD Milns Antiquities Museum, housed at The University of Queensland. Students and staff alike were able to get a hands-on experience of Ancient Egypt as they commence their study into this unique and fascinating ancient civilisation.
Students were not just able to further their academic understanding of Egyptian history, but they were also able to practically engage with aspects of Egyptian culture including mummification, papyrus writing and hieroglyphics. Additionally, they listened to interactive presentations around these topics and received a personalised tour of the Museum, with some artefacts amongst the collection dating back over three thousand years.
As always, our students were exemplary in their representing of the College, and we look forward to revisiting the Museum and providing further engaging, hands-on experiences for many of our Ancient History cohorts in the future.
