Welcome from the Chaplain and Director of Mission

Welcome to 2021. I trust everyone has had the opportunity for some time of rest and recreation. I would like to welcome you all back for 2021. For those commencing your journey with CHAC, our new students, parents and staff, a special welcome, and I look forward to meeting you.

The new year brings with it a lot of exciting opportunities both within and outside of the classroom. I know I am looking forward to being involved in a number of activities. This will be a busy term for our Campus Ministry and Diakonos teams with a number of key services and events on the calendar.

For some of our students, the transition to a new school, or indeed moving from Primary to Junior Secondary, will have its challenges. I want to assure students and parents that the staff are here to make that transition easier. The friendly ladies in reception, Homeroom teachers, Heads of House, the College Psychologist, and Chaplain are among key staff that are available to support students and parents during this transition period.

This year, we hope we can return to offering our CHAC Family Services. These are generally held twice a term. Details will be sent out closer to the time. We usually combine the service with a social gathering - of course, this will all be dependent on the current COVID situation. Through the Chaplaincy and Campus Ministry program, there are opportunities for students, family and staff to participate in Baptism, Admission to Communion, Eucharist, Confirmation, and where appropriate, the Pastoral Rites of Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, and Marriage (special conditions apply).

If you have any questions, suggestions of programs you would like to see the Campus Ministry team undertake, requests for prayer, pastoral support etc. please feel free to contact me (brnathan@chac.qld.edu.au).

Have a blessed year.
