Talking and listening sounds easy; it’s something we do every day, right? But did you know there is a right way and a wrong way to talk and listen when solving a conflict?
Your child has been learning the strategies to assist them in talking out a conflict.
Some of the strategies they learnt this past week include calming your mind and body, using each other’s names, and some special sentence starters. When you are talking, these strategies help you to be understood and when you are listening, they help you understand.
Understanding each other and being able to work out what both parties want allows us to be Bridge Builders.
