Congratulations to our talented CHAC History students!

The College ‘swept the pool’ in the Modern History categories of the Queensland History Teachers’ Association’s Historical Writing Competition and the History Teachers' Association of Australia's National History Challenge.  It is with great pleasure that I congratulate the following students whose work was judged among the best in Queensland for 2019.

  • Lily Smith – First place in the Year 12 Modern History category.
  • Ella Greenaway – First place in the Year 11 Modern History category.  Ella was also named the H.R. Cowie award recipient for the best Modern History essay overall.
  • Isaac Reed – State Young Historian in the Year 11 category of the National History Challenge.  Isaac was also second place in the Year 11 Modern History category.
  • Taylor Myles – Third place in the Year 8 History category.

Please enjoy reading Ella’s and Isaac’s winning essays. I commend them to you, as they showcase what amazing young people we have here at CHAC!

Thank you to their teachers: Ms Katherine Hart, Mr Kevin Hopkins, and Mr Michael McMahon
