We are proud to announce that Izaak Taylor, one of CHAC’s talented Visual Art students in Year 12, has been very successful in two recent competitions.
He was awarded First Place at the Mt Gravatt Show in the Senior Secondary Drawing section on 26 July. Another of his ambitious drawings, The Dreamer, also won First Prize in the High School Section of the Northern New South Wales Bentley Art Show. It is a beautifully rendered image of his little brother, dreaming of another world.
Izaak’s outstanding work and dedication to the arts truly deserves significant praise, and it’s great to see his achievements and success have been recognised and rewarded.
Another creative and community-minded Year 12 Art student is Sierra Mossman who joined with 99 other teenage artists in The Centenarian Portrait Project by Teenagers. This Queensland Government-sponsored initiative pairs a teenage artist with one of Brisbane’s oldest citizens to share stories and bridge the generation gap. The artist then creates a portrait that is presented to their new friend. The opening of this amazing exhibition of 100 paintings and drawings took place last weekend–a joyous occasion of amazing artworks and people from all walks of life.
