Representative Sports Achievements

A number of CHAC students have excelled in their chosen sports over the past month and we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them all.

Tim Fisk (Year 10), Samuel Paech (Year 7) and Toby Chippendale (Year 6) all competed at the Queensland Cross Country Championships during the holidays and finished with strong results. Meanwhile, Reuben Armstrong (Year 6) and Jude Armstrong (Year 8) travelled to Mackay for the State Hockey Championships. Jude was selected into the Queensland U13 Boys Hockey team to compete at the national titles later in the year. Julius Spears (Year 7) competed at the Under 12s State AFL Championships where his Met East team won the title.

A massive congratulations to Alysha Gallagher (Year 10) on her performances at the recent National School Swimming Championships in Hobart. Alysha competed in 15 races over five days of competition, coming away with one bronze, four silver and one gold medal.

She had a podium finish in the 50m freestyle finishing 3rd, which is an unbelievable individual effort. Alysha also made the final in four other individual events, finishing in the following positions:

50m backstroke – 6th
50m butterfly – 8th
100m butterfly – 5th
