Several CHAC students recently competed in the Queensland Track and Field Championship and came away with some tremendous results.

CHAC Year 6 students Amelie Borman, Toby Chippendale and Ruby Samson-Wood travelled to Cairns to compete. Amelie ran 3rd in her heat, narrowly missing out on the finals for the 100m. Toby competed in the 1500m and 800m events. With tough competition, Toby managed to a reputable 7th place in the 1500m. Ruby blitzed the High Jump and finished in 2nd place with a jump of 142cm! She will now represent Queensland at Nationals in Melbourne in November.

CHAC Secondary students Ryan Hobbs (Year 11), Lily Chippendale (Year 8), Amelia Fisk (Year 8), Tim Fisk (Year 10) and Claudia Chapman (Year 9) all competed at the Brisbane event. Ryan won his 100m heat and made the final, placing 7th overall. Lily placed 21st in the 100m, 20th in the 200m and 10th in the 400m. Amelia came 23rd out of 40 in the 1500m, ran a personal best in the 800m and placed 18th out of 30. Tim placed 20th in the Under 16 Boys 1500m. Claudia came 2nd in the 200m Hurdles with a time of 30.73 and will now represent Queensland in this event.

We wish the best of luck to Claudia and Ruby in the National Championships.

We would also like to congratulate Eve Mollee (Year 7) for making the U/12 Queensland Cricket team.
