Term 3 is shaping up to be busy, kicking off with the Primary Academic Assembly held on Wednesday. Congratulations to all students, who have persevered and tried their best throughout the first semester of the year.
This week we welcomed Mr Steve Wright to the CHAC Primary team. Mr Wright has been appointed as the Year 4B teacher for the remainder of the year. He comes from Toowoomba Anglican School and is a highly regarded teacher with a wealth of primary teaching experience and knowledge. Mr Wright is very much looking forward to his time here at CHAC and getting to know the College community.
The Years 3 to 6 students are looking forward to the Athletics Carnival being held next Thursday, with the Prep to Year 2 students joining them on Friday. Many thanks to the P&F for the donation of time and food with the sausage sizzle and cake stall on Friday.
Woolworths Earn & Learn
Thank you to all those who have supported the Woolworths Earn & Learn during the past few months. In all, CHAC raised over 34,000 points. This is double the amount from last year. A huge thank you to the P&F members who have been tirelessly counting and sticking stickers on forms.
This year, the Social Justice Committee has decided they would like to donate the points raised from the stickers. They chose two schools who have been devastated by fires – Morningside State School and Upper Mount Gravatt State School. When Morningside State School was contacted, they were very humbled by the offer but decided to pay it forward to Upper Mount Gravatt State School. This week we have been in contact with the school, organising purchases to be made using the points collected by the CHAC community. We eagerly await the delivery of items so that we can formally present them to Upper Mount Gravatt State School.
Lost Property and Uniform Reminder
There is a considerable amount of lost property being left around the campus. Could you please ensure that all items are named, including socks, jumpers, water bottles etc. This will enable items to be returned to their owner in an efficient manner.
This year’s MS Readathon will be an epic adventure where students will discover their Inner Hero! The MS Readathon inspires students to read as much as they can, all for an incredible cause.
Last year, CHAC primary raised over $6,800. This year, we hope to surpass the $7,000 mark. Funds raised by the MS Readathon go toward sending kids on awesome Family Camps where they can learn about MS and have fun with their family. These camps help families living with multiple sclerosis spend quality time together, learn more about multiple sclerosis and bond with others who are sharing their journey.
The rules are simple. Read whatever you like, as much as you can, in August. This year’s MS Readathon will be a magical quest and the adventure kicks off on 1 August and wraps up on 31 August.
You can register your child through the CHAC MS Readathon page by clicking here.
Thank you for supporting our school's MS Readathon adventure!
