Last Sunday, myself and a group of amazing young women from Years 7 to 11 competed in the Triathlon Pink fun run at the Sleeman Sports Complex. The run raises awareness and funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a charity close to my heart and the hearts of many in our community.
Our race consisted of a 300M swim, an 8K Bike and a 3K run. It was a hot morning and a seemingly only uphill course which challenged each of us. While it was impressive to watch the talent and perseverance of each of the girls, what was most impressive was the spirit and support that they showed each other. Parents, thank you for coming along and supporting each of your daughters with enthusiasm. Chloe, Eliza, Ambryn, Claudia, Natalia, Zoe, Poppy, Victoria, Zoe, Kate and Jasmine - thank you for dressing up with tutu’s and pink zinc sticks and cheering until every single one of us crossed the finish line.
The event was a great experience and hopefully we can do something similar again. Have a relaxing holiday everyone and see you next year. 😊
