Pastoral care in Primary - learning to apologise

Author: Anita Spencer
Author Role: Deputy Director of Primary

Most of us know that apologising or saying sorry is a way of solving conflict. Sometimes though, it can be hard to say sorry because we believe we’re not the only one who has done something wrong. But, when we apologise, we can be the hero that stops the conflict getting worse, and it shows the other person that we understand we had a part to play in the problem. We are also showing respect to them by wanting to try and resolve it.

The BRIDGE BUILDERS® program gives students the language and the right words to use when apologising. Often, it is more than just saying sorry. In this lesson, your child will learn some meaningful ways to say, and when necessary, do an apology.
