After a hectic Term 2, the Primary end of town is getting ready to back it all up with an even busier Term 3!
Please save the dates, check out the volunteer roster and keep an eye out for more news on:
Primary Athletics Carnival-26 July (Week 2)
We are excited to announce the return of the sausage sizzle combo which includes a traditional sausage/vego sausage in bread with a cold drink! Check out our Sign up Genius if you can help out on the day and keep an eye out for notifications from College on how to pre-order via Flexischools. The Primary Sports Carnival will also be graced with the presence of Clive the Coffee Man and a new initiative–The Cakery Bakery! This will include homemade muffins, cakes and biscuits supplied by one of our talented parents for purchase by spectators and students. All items will be nut free, but if you would like to donate any special items–eg gluten, dairy and egg free, please contact primary P&F and we will put you in touch with the stall convener.
Primary Disco–August 8th (Week 4)
Our Disco committee would like to thank everyone who filled out the disco survey form earlier in the term. Suggestions, comments, likes and dislikes have all been analysed and the 2019 Primary Disco should be another great event. Lots of details will be posted next term on ticketing, times, food and fun. Keep an eye on the newsletter and the app for information, and of course more volunteer opportunities!
Fathers Day Stall–August 29 (Week 7)
From the talented team that brought you the Mother's Day Stall, we now have 'The Fathers Day Stall'! As for Mother's Day, the team are interested in hearing from local small (or very small) businesses that would like to be involved by supplying gifts on consignment to the stall. We love to be able to offer locally sourced, quality items for the kids to choose from. If you think you have a suitable product, or would like more information, please get in touch with the Primary P&F.
Active School Travel
Keep being an active traveller as much as possible all next term–it is good for health, the environment and school traffic congestion. If you walk, ride, scooter, bus or carpool on a Friday you are also helping your class to glory in the interclass competition! Tentative Park and Stride group walking days are flagged for August 16 and September 13. The meeting points–Portwine St, Murrarie and Armstrong Rd, Cannon Hill–will remain the same. Sign up to be an assistant here.
Earn and Learn
Today was the final day to bring your stickers into school but the promotion remains open until 25 June. If you have extra, forgotten or newly collected stickers there is a collection box at Woolworths Morningside which will be open until 30 June, so please drop them in there.
The P&F are running the Annual Pie Drive again this year. There will be a wide selection of sweet and savoury family pies plus everybody's favourite lamingtons from the wonderful Dell's Bakery. The Trybooking site will be up and running at the beginning of next term with pies arriving on Friday 23 August. So please mark your diary and watch this space.
