Trivia Night Wrap Up
We held our 2019 Page, Stage and Screen Trivia Night on Friday, 30 August and it was a great success. The auditorium was filled with frivolity and think-tank camaraderie as CHAC parent, staff and community came together for a great night out. The costumes were truly 'out of this world' – with the Out of Africa gang pipping Infinity and Beyond for the best dressed gong.
Approximately $5,900 was raised at the event – our best Trivia Night profit yet! A big thank you to our trivia planning team for all their work organising the event: Pauline Wyatt, Robert Nettleton, Marie-Claire Payne, and Tracy Rossow. Special mention also goes to Mark Brittain, Fiona Ford, Kerstin Liebchen, John Ryan, and Fiona Baird for helping out on the night and with other tasks that eased the workload.

Containers for Change
Please support this scheme and help to fill our orange bags for end of term collection next week. We are putting funds raised toward environmental initiatives, and our students will have a chance to provide input into the schemes we support with this funding. Did you know that just one orange peel or discarded sandwich in the recycle bin can contaminate the entire contents in the bin? Please remind your children to do the right thing, and only put the approved recyclables in the bin so that we can make the most of our containers for change contributions.
Wetlands Festival 2020
We are excited to announce that we have filled the convenor position for our annual Wetlands Festival to be held in 2020! We have three convenors sharing the role and all are enthusiastic to make this Festival truly amazing. Welcome on board: Michelle Griffin, Leanne Tran, and Robert Nettleton. The rides are booked, the date is set (2 August 2010) so let the planning begin!
General Information and Sign up Session
If you are interested in helping out during the coming months with planning the festival, wanting to coordinate a stall or simply curious to know how you can help out, then please feel welcome to come along to our Info & Sign up Session on Wednesday 9 October in Room C5 at 6pm (first week back Term 4 so please mark your diary). The P&F convenors will be providing details of the stalls planned for the Festival and outlining other opportunities for helpers willing to contribute time, expertise and energy for the Wetlands Festival. If you have any questions or ideas please email the convenors at Wetlands Festival.
CHAC Wetlands Festival 2020 Logo competition
Students from Prep to Year 12 are encouraged to get their creative juices flowing as we open up a competition in search for our 2020 Wetlands Festival logo. Competition requirements and details how to enter will be provided to each student in the final week of this term so they can start their entry over the school holidays. The winning logo will be announced early in Term 4.
CHAC Wetlands Festival Facebook Page
Please like our page and share with your friends and family.
CHAC values our school community and the many businesses that support us. If you or someone you know may be interested in a business sponsorship for the Wetlands Festival please email the convenor at Wetlands Festival to find a sponsorship package to suit you.
Please look out for details regarding the P&F Bursary on the P&F Facebook page. In the past we have awarded this as two entrepreneur bursaries, but this year we have revised the criteria to one entrepreneur and a general ‘growth’ bursary that covers a wider range of areas including sport, music and others. These bursaries are awarded at the Annual Awards Evening held in November.
Next P&F Meeting
We have an upcoming P&F Meeting this Monday 16 September at 6pm in the Research Centre (library). All parents are welcome to come along. Any queries about our meetings please email P&F President.
One more week to school holidays! It has been an eventful term. On behalf of the P&F please keep safe over the break, and enjoy family time.
