National Tree Day at CHAC

National Tree Day at CHAC

Author: Sarah Devonshire and Troy Jones
Author Role: Environment Committee Coordinators

We are very lucky at CHAC to be surrounded by the beautiful wetland environment, and we were excited to contribute to the vegetation of the creek area by planting some trees as part of National Tree Day.

National Tree Day is Australia's largest community tree-planting and nature protection event. Participating in this initiative was a great opportunity for our students to make a difference and create positive environmental change in our community.

Students from across the College donned their National Tree Day hats and gardening gloves and joined the event supported by Downtown Toyota. We planted six trees along the creek to add to six that were planted by the College Houses last year. It will be lovely for the students to watch the trees grow during their time at CHAC.

Our thanks go to Mr Shannon and Mr Philip from the Property Services Team for their efforts in digging the holes and assisting students to plant the trees. A big pat on the back also goes to the students for volunteering their lunchtime.
