Year 9 Flight students were given the opportunity to visit the facilities at Aviation Australia this week. A training facility for engineers, mechanics, pilots and flight attendants, this company has been part of our Flight subject since its inception.
This cross-curricular elective is offered to students over one semester. It combines Science and Visual Art to instruct and inspire futurists in design, mechanical engineering, science, and aerospace.
The excursion offered the class a practical insight into aircraft design, training and maintenance. Classroom theory became reality as students saw inside large wing structures, engines and the latest in drone design. Students were most captivated by being able to be up close and personal with the various aircraft on show, including the big A380 and 747 planes, as well as helicopters and fighter planes.
Our enjoyable excursion was another example of the extensive learning opportunities we have at CHAC.
