With some teams having a bye in Round 5 due to Open Day exams, the Years 4 and 5 teams took to the field in a shortened round for CHAC.
Year 4 Blue started strongly in a tight game against St John’s. Both teams fought very well throughout the game to gain possession. Some great leadership and skills were shown by Sophia Klinge in midfield and Isla Green. The attacking partnerships of Liam Lee and Zoe Schmidt, and Sophia Klinge and Andy Humphreys in the final quarter, saw CHAC gain an advantage and finish the game with a win.
In other Junior TAS games, the Year 4 Red team came away with their first win of the season. The Year 5 team had a tough loss, however, put on an improved defensive effort as the game progressed to show they are a solid team that continues to improve.
Both the Years 4 and 5 teams recorded wins over the weekend, with the Year 5 team coming away with a comprehensive win against Redeemer. Redeemer was restricted to 77 runs for their innings, with some tight and direct bowling from CHAC keeping the batters fighting for runs.
In reply, the Year 5 team put on 130 runs, with Aiden Tran and Isaac Hankinson teaming up to keep the runs flowing.
Congratulations to all teams on their seasons so far, and good luck for the remaining two rounds of the Term 1 season.
