Due to the wet start to the season, Round 4 marked the first games of the JTAS season.
With the Year 5 team playing the only game in Round 3, it was an impressive start to the season. The team includes some new players as well as some experienced players, and the whole group came together to win their game against St Paul's and start the season off in terrific style. Some notable performances were had by Grace Jordan who took her first wicket in CHAC Cricket, and Molly Heaton who kept St Paul's to a reachable total with some tight bowling.
The Year 6 Cricket team started their season off last weekend with a great win against WestMAC, and thanks to some strong bowling, managed to keep the WestMAC side to a total of 60. CHAC chased this total down with only the loss of four wickets and this set up a wonderful start to their season.
The CHAC Year 4 team started their CHAC sporting journey off with a fantastic game against WestMAC. All players fielded particularly well and the season has started in a great way with some great tight bowling from Micah Tran and Tobias Tennant.
Training sessions and games have been washed out over the previous weeks, but CHAC Hockey players were finally able to wipe off the cobwebs from the sticks and start playing some highly anticipated games. This was a great learning experience for many teams, in particular, the Year 4 teams who started their Hockey journeys at CHAC and performed incredibly well despite going down on the scoresheet. Many Years 5 and 6 players had the benefit of having some previous experience but still needed to work hard and build some strong combinations throughout their games.
Some notable performances were: Eliza Phillips who was a strong attacking player in the Year 4 Red team, as well as Hannah Ryan and Liam Clark who pushed themselves the whole way through the game in some hot conditions.
Congratulations to the players in all Hockey and Cricket teams on their performance last week, and best of luck for this coming week's rounds.
