The Project Showcase
On Monday evening (25 November), 23 students will unveil projects completed in the new Year 10 elective, The Project, at a Showcase evening in the Auditorium. The impressive final projects range from a fashion range to IT apps to a novella to films, plays, a cookbook, and even a science research project.
For students involved, their semester in the subject has enabled them to indulge an area of emerging skill, interest or passion, and take it to a new level. Presenters will have only 4-4.5 minutes each to present their semester project.
5.00-6.00pm Film screenings, project displays, food and drinks available for purchase
6.00-7.15pm Project presentations – Part 1
7.15-7.45pm Interval and film screenings, project displays
7.45-9.00pm Project presentations – Part 2
Prior to the evening program and during interval, students’ films can be viewed in their entirety in the Project Showcase “Cinema”; written work can be perused in the Project Showcase “Writers’ Corner”; or project displays of fashion, IT, music, art, media, design and science can be viewed in the Project Showcase “Gallery”.
The event is open to the College community, as well as friends and family, with students keen to showcase their “passion projects” after a semester of hard work developing their knowledge, skills and talents. Students have had to develop project and time management skills, as well as overcoming challenges and disappointments along the way, resulting in powerful experiential learning and projects of which they – and the College – are justifiably proud.
