This week's recommended reading is by happiness and wellness speaker and writer Dr Jodi Richardson suggests that instead of waiting for anxiety to pass, the process of setting goals then setting out to achieve them will assist your anxious teen practise ‘goal directed action’. She sets out five steps that empower teenagers to choose behaviours that, despite their anxiety, will build in them the courage and confidence to live rich and meaningful lives. They are:

- Time to set a goal
- Start small
