Next week is the week in the term when we focus on the life and service of St Francis and St Clare, through our special St Francis and St Clare celebration assembly and the events of Diakonos Week.
The highlight of the week is always the Social Justice Breakfast, which will be held on Thursday 18 October at 7am in the Auditorium Foyer.
Our focus this year is on including and celebrating people with a disability, and our guest speaker is Mary from The Tertiary Place; an organisation which supports and offers opportunities to young adults with an intellectual disability.
CHAC has previously supported this group and past students have offered their services as volunteers and employees. There is no cost for the Social Justice Breakfast, and students from Years 7 to 12 are welcome to attend if they sign up at Senior Secondary Reception. Year 6 students and teachers in the Social Justice Team have a table reserved on their behalf.
We ask attendees to bring along toiletries for the Brisbane Basket Brigade, which CHAC is once again hosting this year, as a way of showing our gratitude.
