Composting in Primary

Composting in Primary

Author: Anita Spencer
Author Role: Deputy Director of Primary

Recently in Primary, we have seen the introduction of some brand-new bins around the two eating areas. These bins are compost bins that the secondary students initiated. They are for all of the students to use if they have any food scraps like apple cores, banana peels and mandarin and orange peels. We would like students to put their food scraps into these bins instead of the regular bins, which sit everywhere around the Primary campus. This will reduce the general waste output of the school significantly. The bins are small and yellow, and they are bolted to the walls around Primary, with one in lower Primary and one in upper Primary.
