In a formal and heart-felt service, 118 Year 12s were commissioned as student leaders of CHAC.
Following hymns, Bible readings and the blessing of the Leaders’ and 30th-year commemorative pins, the CHAC Seniors were individually welcomed on stage, anointed, and presented with a leaf to add to the tree symbolising one tree, many leaves. The Principal, Robyn Bell, then presented each student with their leadership badges, a commemorative pin for the College’s 30 year, and a certificate.
The Year 12s made the following pledge:
We, the Cannon Hill Anglican College Seniors for 2018, accept this sacred trust to serve others.
We pledge to uphold the Christian values of our College community, and to act at all times with dignity, courtesy, honesty, respect, loyalty and enthusiasm.
We will conduct ourselves with concern for the wellbeing of others, as well as respect for our College facilities and the natural environment. With the help and support of staff and fellow students, we will lead with courage and compassion.
We wish the Year 12s all the best and every blessing as they commence this important final year of schooling. As Robyn Bell said in her prayer for the Seniors, ‘May they know strength in unity, new life in opportunity, and renewal in every facet of their College life’.
