Shelby Tillett (Class of 2016) commenced a Bachelor of Aviation at Griffith University (Nathan Campus) this year, as part of her path to becoming a Commercial Pilot. In April 2017, she submitted an application for a Pilot cadetship with Virgin Australia, then underwent the rigorous panel interviews and aptitude and medical assessments, which culminated with a fourperson panel interview in September.
Not long after, Shelby received news that she had been successful in securing one of the much sought after ‘Ab Initio’ cadetship positions. Shelby is one of only three females in the 18-strong cohort now based at the internationally recognised Flight Training Adelaide in South Australia.
Shelby was then selected to promote the Cadet Training with Virgin Australia. Click on the image below to open the video.
Shelby has deferred her Bachelor of Aviation for now and hopes to study once she is working full-time for Virgin Australia.
CHAC congratulates Shelby on her tremendous achievements so far, and we look forward to seeing what her future holds.
