The Year 11 Ancient History class recently visited The University of Queensland Antiquities Museum. Students were guided through the museum by a curator and were able to view artefacts from ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. The class also engaged in a hands-on workshop where they investigated daily life in a Roman town through artefacts - some of which were over 2000 years old.
Archaeology is the foundational unit in the senior course, and the excursion is an opportunity to gain practical experience dealing with artefacts. The excursion is always a highlight of the Ancient History program at CHAC.
