In these uncertain and challenging times, it is with great pleasure that I share some exciting news with you. Following an extensive search, we have made the appointment of a new Chaplain and Director of Mission.
Brother Nathan James will be joining us from the commencement of Term 2. He is very much looking forward to becoming part of our College community and brings with him a range of experiences that will serve our community well. Brother Nathan has spent the past seven years at All Souls St Gabriels in Charters Towers, an Anglican school that is part of our Queensland community.
Many of our students met Brother Nathan in Term 4 last year when he spent two days immersed in College life with Reverend Sarah and Mrs Duvenage. Participating in Year 11 and 12 Life and Faith classes, visiting Primary and Secondary classes and meeting College staff he gained a good understanding of the culture and educational philosophy of CHAC.
I look forward to being able to more formally introduce him to the CHAC Community in the near future.
Dear CHAC community
We are currently living in challenging times requiring unprecedented responses from us as individuals, a community and as a Nation. It is in this context that I am looking forward to joining you next term as Chaplain and Director of Mission. As a First Order Anglican Franciscan Brother, it is particularly exciting becoming part of the only Anglican School dedicated to Saints Clare and Francis. I have a great passion for people and the Gospel. I have worked with young people in a variety of contexts: adolescent inpatient and community health services, youth crisis counselling and emergency accommodation services, mobile youth health outreach and education, and for the last 7 plus years as Chaplain to a co-ed day and boarding school and Chaplain to the Air Force Cadets in NQ. I am looking forward to serving, and being a part of, the CHAC community. Please be assured of my prayers during these challenging times. Pax Et Bonum.
Brother Nathan James
