Carnivals

CHAC students are provided the opportunity to participate in an Inter-House Carnival in Terms 1, 2 and 3. These carnivals are used to select students to compete for the College in The Associated Schools (TAS) Sport inter-school Carnivals.

Term 1 - Swimming

Years 3 to 6 students compete in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly (25m and 50m) at the Colmslie Pool. Secondary students compete in freestyle, backstoke, breaststroke and butterfly (50m and 100m) at the Valley Pool. 

End Term 1/Term 2 - Cross Country

Primary students have the opportunity to run between 500m and 3kms (across the College Campus and surrounding Wetlands). Secondary students have the opportunity to run between 3kms and 5kms (across the College Campus and surrounding Wetlands). 

End Term 2/Term 3 - Athletics

Primary students have the opportunity to participate in a number of Athletic events across two days at the College, with Secondary students competing at both the College and the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre (QSAC).

Secondary Cross Country Carnival

Information

CHAC’s annual Inter-House Secondary Cross Country carnival has been rescheduled for Monday, 19 April at the College campus.

Uniform Expectations

Only those students who have House or Sport shirts and CHAC sports shorts may wear them to school on the day. Students who do not have either House Sport shirts and CHAC sports shorts must come in normal school uniform then change to compete.

No face/body paint or coloured ribbons can be worn prior to gathering at the marshalling area (decorations can only be applied after students are seated in house areas and must be removed before leaving school at 3:10pm)

Other Information

All students must bring sunscreen, a water bottle and lunch to the marshalling area (the canteen will be open at recess only – no orders). The Social Justice Committee will operate a limited canteen for the event (sausage sizzle, drinks and ice blocks)
