Secondary Athletics Carnival
CHAC’s annual Secondary Inter-House Athletics Carnival will be held on Wednesday 16 June at the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre, Nathan.
Students have nominated for the events they wish to enter in Homerooms and have been given all details regarding the day.
It is a normal school day and students are expected to attend. Normal phone-in procedures must be followed to inform the school of any absences if students are ill on the day. If students cannot compete due to illness or injury (but are able to attend school), they may be allocated jobs to assist on the day or support their House in the stands.
Students competing in the 800m event must meet in the Tuggerah Centre at 7.15am to catch the early bus. All other students will attend morning Homerooms as normal then be directed onto buses.
Students must wear full school sports uniform to and from school. This includes: CHAC sports shorts, CHAC PE Shirt or House shirt, white socks, CHAC cap or formal hat (if they do not own a sports hat) and running shoes. School jumpers, blazers and tracksuits only are permitted to be worn. No jewellery is permitted and hair must be neatly tied back.
Students should wear sunscreen and apply it regularly throughout the day.
Students are encouraged to bring their own water bottle and enough food to last the day. A canteen is available at the venue.
Any parents who are planning on attending the carnival please be aware that carparking is limited onsite. See the venue map for car parking location.
To ensure a COVID safe event, students and spectators are to sanitize hands regularly. Students and Staff will only be permitted in the grandstand, no outside spectators. Spectators should sign in using the QR codes located at the venue
